Indian Labor Laws

UNT

Poster Series Illustrations

I created this poster series to raise awareness of child labor in India. The sewing machines are made from cut fabric, composited in Photoshop and Illustrator. They are printed on canvas. I hand stitched details on both posters. For the barbed wire, symbolizing the prison like environment children work and grow up in, I used metallic thread and metallic Delica beads. I created clocks on the dials of the sewing machine, referencing the long, tiring days children are forced to work, using a variety of beads and Swarovski crystals. Colored inspired by Indian textiles and vibrant colors.
